PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage to a pile head due to bending moments in earthquakes. SOLUTION: The pile head structure has an elastic bearing 4 interposed between the head of the pile 1, i.e., the pile head 2, and the foundation 3 of an upper structure (not shown), the elastic bearing comprising an annular elastic plate 7 positioned around a circular elastic plate 6. The annular elastic plate 7 is positioned to form a gap d between itself and the circular elastic plate 6.
