PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new catalyst component comprising a vanadium complex, a catalyst for the polymerization of a conjugated diene, made therefrom, and to provide a method for polymerizing a conjugated diene with controlled microstructure by using the catalyst. SOLUTION: The catalyst comprises a combination of (A) a specified vanadium complex and (B) at least one cocatalyst selected from the group consisting of organoaluminum oxy compounds and ionic compounds. The catalyst is used for the method for polymerizing a conjugated diene.
