PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus which cleans both sides of a long tatami facing surely, automatically, and efficiently in one process to effect labor saving. SOLUTION: The apparatus is composed of a rolled sheet basket B for housing a tatami facing A located below a step 21 on which an operator stands, a guide bar 1 for introducing the tatami facing A correctly, a feed roller 7 for conveying the tatami facing, press rollers 8-13 arranged on the roller 7, a brush 2 which is placed in an upper stage housing 19 and cleans the upper surface of the tatami facing A, a buff 5 placed in the housing 19, a conveyance belt 22 to be a feed guide for bringing down the tatami facing A smoothly to make the U-turn of it, a roller 14 for circulating the belt 22, a rotary brush 3 which is placed in the lower stage housing 19 and cleans the lower surface of the tatami facing A, a rotary buff 6, and a small-size brush 4 for removing dust adherent to the upper surface of the tatami facing during conveyance.
