EXTRACT ISOLATED FROM PAECILOMYCES JAPONICA AND HAVING ANTIBIOTIC ACTIVITY AND ITS USE

PURPOSE: An extract having antibiotic activity and isolated from Paecilomyces japonica and its use are provided, which extract has the anticancer activity inducing cell apoptosis by DNA fragmentation. CONSTITUTION: The extract of Paecilomyces japonica is produced by heat-extracting culture mycelia of Paecilomyces japonica and centrifuging it to produce Paecilomyces japonica solution; extracting the solution with hexene; dividing the remaining solution with ethylacetate to produce Paecilomyces japonica extract which kills cancer cells such as Jurkat, U937, HL-60, THP-1, HepG2, MDa 361, BW 5147.G.1.4, EL-4 and Sarcoma 180.
