PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cassette and disk recording/playing device capable of achieving power saving at standby time when a main power source switch is OFF. SOLUTION: A composite rack 2 is slid by inserting a cassette 6 into an insertion port 5, a counter electromotive force is generated by rotating a loading motor 3 through a gear mechanism 4 following the sliding of the composite rack 2, and a detection switch is switched to another state by the counter electromotive force.
