PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a human erythroid differentiation related factor(hEDRF), a polynuleotide encoding the hEDRF and an antibody specific for the hEDRF and to provide a method for use thereof. SOLUTION: This polypeptide comprises at least 5 contiguous amino acids which are the same as a specific amino acid sequence obtained from a human erythroid precursor but are not the same as an amino acid sequence that is a homologue derived from a mouse. Furthermore, the method for analysis uses an antibody specific for the polypeptide.
