MAN-MACHINE INTERFACE SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a man-machine interface system to use an image of a fingertip on a desk. SOLUTION: A processing to be performed by calculating a coordinate of the fingertip in a system 60 is explained. 1. An area of a user's hand placed on the desk 10 is extracted from the image of an infrared camera. 2. A fingertip point of a user is detected from the extracted hand area. 3. A position coordinate of the fingertip point on a camera image is transformed into a position coordinate on the desk by calibration by using a preliminarily calculated projective transformation parameter. 4. Interaction is taken with an object and information projected on the desk based on fingertip position information on the desk.
