PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna having excellent strength capable of preventing failure such as damage to a top even when external force such as falling impact is applied. SOLUTION: In a top 13 at the top end of an antenna 12, a metallic plug 15 whose diameter is larger than that of an antenna core is provided at a base end, a coil 16 winding an antenna element is located on the top end of the plug 15, and the outer periphery of the plug 15 and the coil 16 is covered with a cap 17 of resin or the like formed by insert molding. The plug 15 has a tapered part 15a gradually thinned from the maximum diameter on the top end side of the antenna to the side of the antenna core at the base end of the top 13, the cap 17 of this outer periphery is formed with a thick part 17a, with which a base end is tapered so as to fill the outer peripheral space of the plug 15 corresponding to the outer diameter of the tapered part 15a and thickness is gradually reduced toward the base end.
