PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the copyright of AV data can not be protected when copy control information stored in the header of an isochronous packet is illegally rewritten during transmission. SOLUTION: This transmitter is provided with a transmission stream input means 10 for inputting the AV data and a first interface 8 for transmitting the AV data to an IEEE1394 bus. The first interface 8 receives the copy control information sent from the receiver provided with a second interface for receiving the AV data transmitted from the first interface 8 and returning the copy control information added to the received AV data to the first interface. In the case that the transmitted copy control information and the received copy control information do not match, the first interface 8 stops the transmission of the AV data.
