PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of preparing a crystalline solid, especially titanium zeolite in a short time without forming precipitate. SOLUTION: This method is to prepare a crystalline solid comprising at least one element selected from the groups IIIa, IVa and Va and at least one transition metal, characterized in that at least one oxide source of the element from the groups IIIa, IVa and Va and at least one oxide source of the transition metal dissolved in advance in an alcohol with pKa lower than the pKa of water are hydrolyzed in an aqueous medium containing a mineralizing agent (donating OH- ion which is required for the hydrolysis), and the obtained gel is crystallized in the presence of a structuring agent (exerting influence on the crystalline structure), wherein the element from the groups IIIa, Iva and Va is Al, Si or P, preferably Si, and the transition metal is Ti, V, Zr and the like.
