PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely relieve an impact given to a seated person by collisions from various directions in a light alloy seat back frame of a seat for vehicle. SOLUTION: This seat back frame A comprises a pair of right and left side members 10 and upper and lower members 20 and 21 for connecting the upper and lower parts of the both side members formed integrally with each other with light alloy. The cross sectional shape of each side member is U-shape opening in a front or a rear side. Each free edge part 11 of each side member forming both open side tips of the U-cross sectional shape should desirably be formed in a bead shape. Each side member should desirably comprise an energy absorbing hole 15 in a part of the U-cross sectional shape forming the bottom part. The energy absorbing hole may be formed of a plurality of holes provided along the longitudinal direction of the side member.
