PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device constituted to perform processing of TCP/IP in the manner of hardware. SOLUTION: Concerning this device, data is made to be transmitted regardless of control information processing by separately forming an information plane for processing and transmitting/receiving user data to be exchanged in the configuration of a hardware-like TCP/IP processor, the number of times of memory access is decreased by internally providing a buffer for storing data to be transmitted and received data, overhead caused by checksum calculation is reduced by simultaneously performing checksum calculation to a predictable header in the next order of segment transmission and to the data, and overhead caused by memory addressing is improved by inserting the address of the data to be transmitted into a sequence number field, transmitting the data and using the value of the sequence number field as a pointer for storing data in the memory in the case of reassembly.
