PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten time for analyzing meta-information, to easily change analyzable meta-information and to provide the latest meta-information with an arbitrary probability in a meta-information providing method for the contents of Web page or the like. SOLUTION: Intermediate analysis for acquiring a Web object from the Internet and finding meta-information concerning this Web object is performed while using an analytic component and the meta-information is stored in a data base. When a meta-information acquisition request is received from a client, it is examined whether the intermediate analyzed result required for calculating meta-information exists on the data base or not, and when the result exists, meta-information is calculated from the intermediate analyzed result by a component for meta-information calculation and returned. When the result does not exist, the Web object is acquired from the Internet and the meta-information is calculated after intermediate analysis and returned.
