PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically control to a predetermined range the angle of the rear-view mirror of a rear-view mirror device for a combination of vehicles comprising a tractor and a trailer, without attaching component parts to the trailer. SOLUTION: An image outputted from a camera 3 mounted to the trailer 2 in such a manner as to rotate together with the rear-view mirror 4 is processed to detect the rear-end position 2a of the trailer 2 and the rear-view mirror 4 is rotated so that the rear-end position 2a always comes to a predetermined position in the image taken by the camera 3. The predetermined position is offset by an amount including the amount desired by the driver, so that as vehicle speed gets slower or when a gear is in a receded position, the rear- view mirror is pointed more inwardly.
