PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pump water heater wherein high pressure can be controlled with a simplified control construction, and reliability of a compressor can be maintained. SOLUTION: Pressure detection means 43 is provided for detecting pressure on the side of discharge of a compressor 41, and when the detected pressure exceeds reference pressure, target discharge temperature is lowered. To be concrete, a plurality of operation modes, in which the target discharge temperature is defined corresponding to fresh air temperature, are stored, and when the detected pressure exceeds the reference pressure during operation in a specific operation mode, the operation is shifted to an operation mode on the side of high fresh air temperature. |
