The procedure provides monitoring of the torque produced by each of the four cylinders of an internal combustion engine, where the engine is controlled by a computer. The process includes estimation of the torque during each half turn of the crankshaft. This entails the memorization of the duration (Tk) of the successive half-turns of the crankshaft. An estimation is carried out of the difference in the torque ( DELTA Cik) produced by cylinder, i, working in the combustion cycle during the half-turn, k, with respect that to that of the three other cylinders. The formula used in this estimation is: DELTA Cik = (Ck-1 + Ck+1)/3 + (Ck-2) + (Ck+2)/6 - Ck, where Ck being the torque estimated during the half-turn, k, and the sum of all the differences in torque for the four cylinders being null. |
