PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device, having a charging controller capable of controlling overvoltage and overcurrent to a rechargeable battery by suppressing heat generation and improving a power efficiency. SOLUTION: Switching circuit 2, 3, having a parallel circuit of diodes and switched with the diodes disposed in reverse directions to each other are connected in series, between a charging power source line and a battery body. When charged, the switch of the circuit 3 is turned on as its initial state, and the battery is charged via forward diodes parallel to the circuit 2. When a charging current becomes a fixed value or larger, the switch of the circuit 2 is tuned on, and the battery is charged. Meanwhile, when it is discharged, the switch of the circuit 2 is set to its initial state, and turned on, when a voltage of a positive electrode of the battery body exceeds a prescribed voltage for preventing overdischarging. Then, the battery is discharged via the forward diode parallel to the circuit 3. When the discharging current value becomes a prescribed value or higher, the switch of the circuit 3 is turned on and the battery is discharged.
