PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend a transmission range by increasing the signal voltage to input. SOLUTION: This ground return power line carrier communication system which input a signal between a power line and the ground is equipped with a current monitor circuit 8 arranged between the output of an amplifier 5 of a transmission signal and the power line 1 to monitors the current, an input voltage monitor ground electrode 7 which is provided at a far distance different from the output of the amplifier 5 and a ground electrode 3 for signal input, an input voltage monitor circuit 9 which measures the signal voltage between the power line 1 and the ground, a multiplying circuit 10 and a gain control circuit 11 which control to keep a constant level of the electric power inputted from the amplifier 5 according to the outputs of the monitor circuits 8 and 9.
