PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a three-dimensional clip deciding process using two clip areas fast. SOLUTION: Clip codes generated by comparing the vertex coordinates of a polygon with two clip areas are held corresponding to the number of the vertexes and on the basis of the clip codes, a clip state code showing the state of the polygon for each clip area is generated; and an inter-area clip state code for discriminating the necessity of an actual clip process as to the polygon is generated and the holding of the clip code and the generation of the clip state code are controlled corresponding to the shape of the polygon.
