PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for searching information on the Internet is provided to selectively offer information by accurately discriminating request information of a user according to query information initially stored. CONSTITUTION: Various information provided from a plurality of information providers is searched through a plurality of search engines and divided. After that, the information is stored in a database(S500). Detailed query information is stored in a query generation unit according to the stored information(S502). The query generation unit performs a query and a response of a correspondence item according to request information of an information searcher(S504). All sorts of information on the Internet are selectively provided to the information searcher according to the query and the response(S506).
