PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital copying machine capable of simultaneously performing an image reading operation in which read image data are transferred to an external computer from an image reading part and a printing operation in which print image data are transferred to a printing part from the external computer by using a common bus, and to provide an image data transferring method. SOLUTION: In this digital copying machine 10 having the image reading part 22 reading the image of an original and generating the read image data, the printing part 25 printing print image data generated for printing, and a transferring means which transfers the read image data to the external computer and also transfers the print image data generated by the external computer to the part 25, the transferring means has a 1st signal generator 26 generating a clock signal and alternately-transferring means 27 to 29, 32, 34 and 36 which transfer the read image data and the print image data alternately via the common bus 40 in accordance with the rise and the fall of the clock signal.
