PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently attaining a host initiated FC I/O operation. SOLUTION: An FCP response frame is not returned from an FC port to a host memory in an FC node, the FC port discriminates whether or not the I/O operation is well attained (1415) on the basis of contents of the received FCP response frame, and in the usual case where the I/O operation is well attained, the well-attained result is queued in a queue in a host memory (1418). Contents are displayed in a host processor of the FC node via a single bit flag in an attained message and in a rare case wheter the I/O operation is not well attained, the FC port queues the FC response frame received from a target node to the queue in the host memory (1417), and the attained message is queued (1418) while a single bit flag denoting occurrence of an error is set.
