PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the heating power of combustion equipment using a surface combustion plate which is difficult to be enlarged. SOLUTION: This multi-plate type combustion equipment is increased in its flame forming surface by flatly and firmly arranging a plurality of plate units 8, each of which is formed by firmly providing surface combustion plates 1 which form flames on their surfaces by passing a mixed gas of a combustible gas and combustion air in parallel with each other, in parallel with each other by so that plate fixing members 6 may be interposed among the units 8. In the equipment, a narrow and long common pilot gas chamber 16 is provided under each plate unit 8 and an igniting means 19 is provided at every plate unit 8 on the upper outside of each pilot gas chamber.
