PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine room with a silencer capable of efficiently absorbing resonance inside the engine room for reducing interior/exterior noise and causing no disturbance by a resonance tube by arranging the resonance tube provided with a comparatively small volume and opened on one side inside the engine room as a substitute for a resonance type sound absorber with a comparatively large volume. SOLUTION: For reducing noise due to cavity resonance based on a lateral standing wave in the engine room 1A, resonance tubes 31-33 having opening parts 31a-33a on one side and resonating with the standing wave are arranged on the lower face of an engine hood, while the opening parts 31a-33a of the resonance tubes 31-33 are arranged in the vicinity of the standing wave mode antinode occurrence part, and consequently, the engine room 1A with a silencer is formed.
