PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the amenity of a space heater in which an air flow is made imperceptible to a person who uses the space heater in a hot-wind operation by constituting the heater so that a hot wind operation and a radiation heating simply switchable to each other, and forming a circulation flow in the radiant heating operation. SOLUTION: The space heater is provided with a high temperature gas heater producer 21, blower 33, a heat collective surface 25 heated with a high temperature gas from the producer 21, the radiator 23 generating the collected heat as a radiant energy, a radiator-heating air path 24 for leading a high temperature gas to the radiator 23, a blower 30 for supplying an air flow, a radiator- cooling air path 27 for passing the air flow from the blower 30 between the air path 24 and a housing 28 for the heater through a main body-cooling air path 31, and a hot-wind outlet 29 letting out a mixed gas of an air flow from the blower 30 and the high-temperature gas producer 21 as hot wind, and an air-path switching means 32 provided at an appropriate place in the air path 31 to switch the air flow from the blower 30 either to the air path 27 or to the side of the outlet 29.
