The invention relates to a multilayer glass pane for safe motor vehicles. The inventive glass pane is composed of several individual panes. At least the outer pane (1a) at least partially protrudes over the remaining panes (1z, 1I) in a step-by-step manner and with the outer edge thereof. A first limb (4.1) of a safety element (4) is fixed to at least one edge of the pane. According to the invention, the safety element (4) is provided with at least two additional limbs (4.2, 4.3) which are arranged in an essentially rectangular manner in relation to the first limb (4.1). The second limb (4.2) overlaps the area up to a body component (2) that is adjacent to the multilayer pane, or a bullet-proof interior lining (3) and the third limb (4.3) overlaps the multilayer glass pane (1). At least the second limb (4.2) and the first limb (4.1) are configured as separate components.
