PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat-resistant liquid phenol novolak resin capable of exhibiting excellent fluidity and moisture absorption resistance and heat resistance suitable for sealing. SOLUTION: This heat-resistant liquid phenol novolak resin comprises a liquid phenol resin represented by general formula (1) and an imide compound represented by general formula (2) or general formula (3) and has <=1,000 poises viscosity at 50 deg.C.
