PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem caused by the signal output level difference between adjacent pixels in the case of sapling a line output signal of a solid- state image pickup device and detecting the output difference. SOLUTION: The output difference between an R pixel and a Gr pixel is eliminated to make the outputs of the R pixel and the Gr pixel almost the same levels by controlling the D range of the reset gate of the solid-state image pickup device with a drive voltage inputting the outputs to a CDS circuit 100. Also, the output difference between a B pixel and a Gb pixel is similarly eliminated to make the outputs of the B pixel and the Gb pixel almost the same levels. Thus, sampling times with respect to the R pixel and the Gr pixel in sample hold circuits 110, 120 and 130 are made almost equal to be able to obtain an output waveform with no rounding because there is no output difference between the R pixel and the Gr pixel when the outputs are inputted to the circuit 100.
