PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optimizing device for photographic image data which is equipped with a data input device, an image data optimizing device, and an output device. SOLUTION: This optimizing device for photographic image data is equipped with the data input device for 1st image data which are in a 1st color area and represent a photographic image or photographic image set, the optimizing device which optimizes the 1st image data, and the output device for the 1st image data output which is so optimized as to suitably represent the photographic image or photographic image set. This optimizing device optimizes and converts the 1st image data, and the optimization and conversion, therefore, correspond to a combination of 1st conversion of the 1st image data from a 1st color area to another 2nd color area, corrective conversion for correcting the converted 1st image data in the 2nd color area, and 2nd conversion of the corrected 1st image data to a 3rd color area.
