CERAMIC STRUCTURE

A ceramic structure formed by combining and integrating a plurality of ceramic sintered body segments (3a, 3b) whose coefficients of thermal expansion are 3.0 x 10<-6>/C DEG or above. Thermal shock relief zones (5a, 5b) capable of releasing thermal shock are provided between the segments (3a, 3b), and flexibility is given to the width of the thermal shock relief zones (5a, 5b) in the direction of the cross section of the ceramic structure. This ceramic structure is capable of fully releasing thermal shock without considerably decreasing the effective cross sectional area of the structure or the strength of the whole structure and has a high degree of versatility applicable to various uses and materials.
