BUFFERING OF PARTITION TABLES, FILE SYSTEM DIRECTORY STRUCTURES AND INDIVIDUAL FILE CLUSTER CHAINS IN MASS STORAGE DEVICE

摘要

PURPOSE: A buffering of partition tables, a file system directory structures and an individual file cluster chains in a mass storage device are provided to accelerate access to data in a large capacity memory storage peripheral computer system. CONSTITUTION: The computer system(46) for data storage is provided with a host computer having a system RAM(50) related with the computer system and a file directory peripheral bus connected to the host computer. A large capacity memory storage peripheral computer system(56) is connected to the file directory peripheral bus, and the large capacity memory storage peripheral computer system(56) performs access to the file directory for confirming the position of the data of the large capacity memory storage peripheral computer system(56).
