PURPOSE: A structure of a frame assembly of a flat CRT is provided to prevent the howling of the shadow mask and to minimize the weight of the frame assembly by optimizing the inertia momentum of the sub frame. CONSTITUTION: The frame assembly includes a panel glass applied by fluorescent element; a panel glass having an electron gun projecting electron beam toward the fluorescent element; a deflective yoke deflecting the electron beam; a shadow mask fixed on the panel glass; and a sub frame connecting the main frame and the both sides of the main frame. Here, the inertia momentum(Ixx/Izz) of the sub frame is made to come between 0.5 and 2.7. Resonance does not occur between the frame assembly and the shadow mask in the range of a bandwidth of the resonance frequency of the shadow mask.
