PURPOSE: A noise inspecter and method of CD-ROM drive is provided to reduce average inspection time and inspection cost by executing read-in inspection of several CD-ROM to be a subject of inspection at the same time. CONSTITUTION: A CD-ROM drive control part(22) makes a driving control CD-ROM drive(D1,D2,... ,DN) based on read-in data of an inspection CD which is read at several CD-ROM drive(D1,D2,... ,DN). An interface circuit part(21) connects several CD-ROM drive(D1,D2,... ,DN) and the CD-ROM drive control part(22). An acoustic output signal MUX part(23) is connected selectively with one CD-ROM drive out of several CD-ROM drive(D1,D2,... ,DN) and inputs/outputs an acoustic signal which is output from an appropriate CD-ROM drive(D1). An A/D converting part(24) converts an acoustic signal which is output through the acoustic output signal MUX part(23) into a digital signal. A system control part(25) judges defect of the appropriate CD-ROM drive(D1) comparing the digital signal which is input from the A/D converting part(24) with a basis data. An indicating part(26) displays result judged at the system control part(25).
