摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring the cross-sectional dimensions of H-shaped steel whereby the dimension of each part can be accurately measured even if the inclination of a flange and that of a web occur in combined fashion during the measurement of the H-shaped steel. SOLUTION: A plurality of scanning laser range finders 3 to 12 are arranged on the same plane to surround the cross section of the H-shaped steel 1. The coordinates of each measuring point are determined from the distance and angle to the H-shaped steel as determined by the scan of each of the laser range finders, and the rectilinear approximate line of profile data about the web surface and the rectilinear approximate line of profile data about the inside of the flange are determined from the coordinate data. Using the rectilinear approximate lines of the two profile data, the thickness of the flange, the length of the leg of the upper or lower portion of the flange, and the width of the flange are determined.
