PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high speed continuous method for producing an improved carpet which can produce the carpet excellent in shape stability, designability, quality, etc., stably in high productivity. SOLUTION: In the continuous method for producing the carpet in which a resin composition to be a lining layer is supplied continuously on the surface of a rotating releasable belt, and after fiber surface material being laminated on the resin composition, heat treatment is applied in a heated atmosphere for gelling the composition, the temperature of an atmosphere on the surface side of the belt in a heat treatment area is set up at 140 deg.C or below, the temperature of an atmosphere on the back side of the belt is set up at 160-250 deg.C, and the temperature of the atmosphere on the surface side of the belt is set up by at least 60 deg.C lower than that on the back side of the belt.
