PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device of discharge lamp in which a low breakdown voltage element can be used for switching element. SOLUTION: A booster circuit 2 is composed of a series circuit of switching element Q1, Q2 connected between the output terminals of a rectified current smoothing circuit 1 and a multiplier circuit 2c connected between the both ends of the low side switching element Q2, and a load circuit 3 is connected between the output terminals of the booster circuit 2. The multiplier circuit 2c is composed of a plurality of capacitors Cs1..., diode Ds1..., and generates a boosted electric voltage of the output voltage E of the rectified smoothing current 1 in accordance with the on/off action of the switching element Q1, Q2 and supply it to the load circuit 3. The load circuit 3 comprises a LC resonance circuit and a discharge lamp La and flows high frequency current to the discharge lamp and lights the discharge lamp La by a resonance action of the LC resonance circuit. |
