PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature detector capable of reducing the abrasion of a surface of a fixing roller with respect to the temperature detecting device for the fixing roller having a temperature detecting element for detecting a temperature of the surface of the fixing roller. SOLUTION: A metallic foil 23 of a thickness less than 0.1 mm held between a first sheet 20 and a second sheet 21, is mounted between a temperature detecting element 17 and a fixing roller 10, the first sheet 20 is kept into contact with a surface of the fixing roller 10, and the second sheet 21 is kept into contact with the temperature detecting element 17.
