PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rapid current-limiting switch can be switched rapidly, as coaxial shapes of contact arrangements are arranged very compactly to avoid undesirable leakage inductance. SOLUTION: A rapid current-limiting switch (S) has an arc discharge contact arrangement (K1) of a first switching point (S1) in which a rated current flows (IN) and two current flow direction switching paths (P1, P2) connected to the first switching point (S1) in parallel. The first current flow direction switching paths (P1) has a contact arrangement (KT) of a second point (ST) in series state and a power switch (T). The second switch flow direction switching paths (P2) has a switch (SA) and a current limiting element (RB) in series. These contact arrangement portions (K1, KT) are symmetrically disposed within a hermetic housing (G). Both switching points have an electro-dynamic driving part that is switched very rapidly.
