PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording/reproducing device for an easily re-recordable recording medium. SOLUTION: The recording/reproducing device for the recording medium is provided with a recording means 1 recording information on the recording medium, a reproducing means 2 reproducing the information recorded on the recording medium, a control means 6 controlling the whole operation and an erase instruction key 8 instructing an erase function erasing the information recorded in a prescribed area from the recording medium. Further, the recording/reproducing device is provided with an information saving memory 13 saving the information to be erased by the control of the control means 6 when the erase function is operated by the instruction of the erase instruction key 8.
