<p>A method for recycling water-based paint, wherein paint overspray from spray booth 1 and water curtain is pooled in tank 4. On completion of painting the contents of tank 4 are transferred to condensing separator 11, <I>e.g.</I> using transport tank 4'. The spray booth and the separation apparatus are not connected to each other by piping. Condensing separator 11 comprises concentration tank 6, filtrate apparatus 7, recovered paint tank 8, filtration tank 9 and switching valve 10. The contents of tank 4 are separated into a concentrate, containing paint, and a filtrate. The concentrate is then analysed, and if satisfactory, is used for painting. Preferably, the transport tank is provided with an agitator. Also disclosed is a method in which paint overspray is obtained from a plurality of spray booths (fig. 2).</p> |
