PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nickel hydrogen battery having superior internal pressure characteristics and cycle life. SOLUTION: This hydrogen battery is composed of a hydrogen storage alloy electrode as a negative electrode capable of absorbing discharging hydrogen, a nickel hydroxide electrode as positive electrode, a separator and an alkali electrolyte. The hydrogen storage alloy electrode is manufactured by coating the surface of hydrogen storage alloy with activated carbon having an oxygen- contained functional group on its surface and having an average port radius of 0.5-20 Angstrom, or a mixture of two or more kinds of activated carbon, or a hydrogen storage alloy electrode including the activated carbon inside of the electrode. |
