To position bits 16 in the body 1 of an endmill, the body is secured to a setting plate 3 having a surface 18 co-operating with surfaces 14, 15 on pairs of sliding members 12, 13 to position each bit, the pairs of members being adjusted together by adjustment means 7. The floating member 7 is forced downwardly by a screw 6 to locate the bit against the setting block. The bits are then clamped by wedges and screws 23. Each member 12 embraces a bit and holds it resiliently. |
