A surface treated steel sheet for a battery case, being excellent in surface appearance and capable of maintaining a discharge level for an extended time, a battery case and a battery using the battery case. The surface treated steel sheet for a battery case is characterized by having a bismuth layer or nickel-bismuth layer on a steel sheet. The battery case is produced by a drawing method, DI forming method and DTR forming method using the surface treated steel sheet. The battery is characterized by using this battery case. |
