The stand is mounted on castors so as to be moveable and has a rotatable central column (18) which holds at least four compartments distributed over its length for holding papers and magazines. The structure and arrangement of the compartments differs on two sides of the column. The column and its compartments are located inside a frame which has four support posts (2) located in its corners. Support plates (12) are located at the top and bottom of the frame for holding the column in place.
