PURPOSE: A packet based local BTS(Base Transceiver Subsystem) and a method for processing calls therein are provided to achieve voice/data communication between mobile phones, voice/data communication between internet terminal, and voice/data communication between the mobile phones and the internet terminals all. CONSTITUTION: An IP based BTS(120), as a packet based BTS, is comprised of a radio communication signal processing part(121), an internet communication signal processing part(122), a signal conversion part(123), and a packet communication signal processing part(124). The radio communication signal processing part(121) executes radio communication access processing, based on a radio communication protocol like IS-95A/B. The internet communication signal processing part(122) executes communication with an internet network connected to a packet based network through the medium of a router, based on an internet based voice/data transmit-receive protocol like H.323. The signal conversion part(123) converts each signal between the radio communication signal processing part(121) and the internet communication signal processing part(122) into a mutually applicable signal. The packet communication signal processing part(124) executes packet communication for the signals processed by the radio communication signal processing part(121) and the internet communication signal processing part(122) through the medium of the packet based network, based on the packet based network's communication protocol. |
