PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cruising characteristic control device and to solve problems according to the conventional technique and allowing an optimum cruising to suit the user's taste, service environment, etc. SOLUTION: This cruising characteristic control device for a ship equipped with arrangement influencing the cruising characteristics is furnished with a control module which decides the output concerning the manipulated variables of the arrangement, influencing the characteristics on the basis of the input information prescribed and also with an optimizing processing part to optimize the control module on the real-time basis, whereby the characteristics required of a ship are evaluated.
