PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability of operation control regarding the input and output of data, using a nonlinear accessible recording medium. SOLUTION: Operation for inputting and outputting data on the side of a main body 11, equipped with the nonlinear accessible recording medium, is carried out by using an external control panel 91. The external control panel 91 has functions for indicating the selection of AV data to be inputted and outputted, the editing of the AV data, etc., by ports to the main body 1. The external control panel 91 is constituted independently of the main body 1 in terms of the shape, and for example, in a rectangular parallelepiped shape similar to a conventional special keyboard for VCR editing. Through the external control panel 91, control regarding the input and output of data on the side of the main body 1 can be performed with the same sense of operation as that special of keyboard type editing equipment for VCR.
