PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a syringe needle for animals that can be fabricated at a low cost such that, even if the needle is broken while an injection is given to an animal, the needle is easy to detect and can be prevented from being buried in the body of the animal. SOLUTION: The needle base 2 of the syringe needle 1 for animals has an attached portion 4 attached to a syringe barrel S and a needle holding portion 5 for holding a needle 3, with the attached portion 4 formed to have a larger diameter than the needle holding portion 5. A communicating portion 6 for communicating the attached portion 4 with the needle holding portion 5 is provided with a thin-walled portion 8 formed to be thin in wall thickness from inside. The thin-walled portion 8 is strong enough to have no troubles during normal use but is broken before the needle 3 is broken when a predetermined force is applied to the needle base 2 and the needle 3 due to a large motion of an animal. When the thin-walled portion 8 of the needle base 2 is broken, the needle 3 stubbed into the animal is not buried in the body of the animal since the needle holding portion 5 is integrated therewith. The needle holding portion 5 makes it easier to detect and pull out the needle 3.
