The container (1), e.g. of concrete reinforced with metal fibres, has an aperture (2) in the top for filling it, and a plug (3) or lid. The aperture and plug or lid have truncated conical surfaces and are sealed with a suitable binding agent (4). The binding agent is contained in spaces formed by studs (5) on the plug or grooves in the wall of the aperture.
