PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve gathering work by avoiding the operation stop due to the wrong operation of an overlapped-carrying detecting sensor. SOLUTION: This gathering device of this invention supplies the multiple paper sheets 1 placed on plural paper feeding bases 3a-3j one by one with the predetermined timing, and gathering these plural supplied paper sheets while carrying them. This device is provided with plural overlapped-carrying detecting sensors S2a-S2j for detecting overlapped-carrying of the paper sheets in each paper feeding base, an operation selecting part E2 for selecting the overlapped- carrying detecting sensor so as to stop the operation of any one of the plural overlapped-carrying detecting sensors S2a-S2j, and a condition display part E3 for displaying the detected overlapped-carrying of the plural overlapped- carrying detecting sensor. Operation of the overlapped-carrying detecting sensor detecting the overlapped-carrying in the operation last time can be stopped in the following operation for gathering the paper sheets.
